Frank and Jim Kovac have teamed up to combine over 30 years of music experience to create the band KOVAX. The group blends rock, soul, funk, blue-grass and other styles to get their unique sound.
Prior to forming KOVAX in 2005, the Kovac brothers pursued different musical paths with rare performances togehter. One of their last was a set at the 1997 HORDE Tour in Philadelphia with Colonel Bruce Hampton (Aquarium Rescue Unit) and members of Leftover Salmon. Now the Kovac brothers are enjoying an opportunity to perform together on a regular basis. Kovac adds, “We’re not just looking to create interesting music but also to promote independent music as a more sincere representation of people’s ideas”. To get their unique sound, they recruited some highly regarded musicians including Dave Morrison on bass, Geordie Van Nostrand on guitar, and sax players Evan Olmstead and Jeff Wasserman. Don’t miss an opportunity to see an incredible night of music.
